De la identidad humana a las identidades sociopolíticas: el rol del pensamiento wittgensteiniano en un desplazamiento crucial

Resumen

La noción de identidad suele estar asociada en nuestros días a discusiones ético-políticas relacionadas con el multiculturalismo, la diversidad sexual o de género, el reconocimiento de tal pluralidad, etc. Sin embargo, este predominio de una visión plural de lo identitario (como “identidades”, principalmente) contrasta con el sentido que había tenido la idea de identidad a lo largo de la mayor parte de la historia de la filosofía, en que aludía más bien a lo igual, a la mismidad; no a lo diverso, a lo otro. Con el fin de contribuir a explicar el paso de una a otra concepción de la “identidad” (efectuada, sobre todo, en el último tercio del siglo XX), creemos relevante fijarnos en las reflexiones filosóficas elaboradas por Ludwig Wittgenstein hacia mediados de ese mismo siglo. Nuestra tesis será que, con tales meditaciones, este autor nos abre hacia una visión más plural de la identidad humana, frente a los intérpretes del propio Wittgenstein que creen que su tarea principal fue fundamentar una noción fuerte de la identidad humana común, centrada en la “naturaleza humana”. Para comprender, pues, la verdadera aportación wittgensteiniana será preciso interpretar nociones clave de su filosofía (como “formas de vida” o “historia natural”) desde un punto de vista pluralista; solo así comprenderemos en qué medida es antecesor de las reflexiones ético-políticas actuales sobre las identidades plurales.
