Abstract

Mostly, speeches that attempt to recover the memory of the victims of Francoism are characterized by a critique of the transition, as it is accused of forgetfulness which has influenced the democratic life. In contrast to that, some historians argue that the so-called “forgetfulness” was not an episode of amnesia where the people erased the experiences, but it was a voluntary action and there was a political project that was omitted. Following this analytical investigation I will approach the female voices of the anti-Franco resistance that, during the transition, created a testimonuy, evidencing the multiplicity of discourses that try to open a place of memory in the new democratic State. In this article, I make an approach to autobiographical texts, and testimonials text from ex political prisioners: Tomasa Cuevas, Juana Doña and Carlota O’Neill.
