Abstract

With Dead Ringers, Cronenberg once again raises the problem of identity construction. By the question of how biology can be destiny, scientific discourse is questioned, as it was in The Fly, while formula can inform the sub- ject acting as a limit or law. Biology is, therefore, heir to the plan of creation; a degraded version of that God does not believe that Cronenberg. In line with the genre that the author calls Conceptual Science Fiction, Cronenberg presents us with the paradox of identity in the event that there are a pair of identical twins.
