Abstract

Our purpose will be to bring out some aspects of the Christian cultural subject in the Peninsula, on a period going from the 9th up to the 13th century,  through  the  structures  that  underpin  the  medieval  representation  of the Christian message—from the  Beatos to Romanesque portals—,of its flaws and symbolic renovations. Starting with an analysis of the linguistic material, of the development of a codified discourse together with the reproduction of some discursive practices, we will be able to sketch out the contours of the cultural subject and throw light on references relating both to the history of art and to the historical forward movement of a world the official tension of which would only be turned to God.
