By 1850-1860, the research into the Physiological Optics, particularly by Hermann von Helmholtz aroused a radically new definition of the perception’s process, causing a new examination of a set of problems about the visible world. This contribution is dealing with the way how a scientific discourse’s major structure (Impression vs Sensation) is linking together the infraestructure and the cultural field of the concerned times (structuralism, psychoanalysis, semiology, abstract art, Symbolism’s Poetry), through an intermediate field, The Scientific Aesthetic (L’Esthétique scientifique).
