Abstract

The following is the experience of a peace education workshop held at a multigrade primary school in a rural community in Yucatan, México. The text begins by showing the epistemological position of María Montessori with an emphasis on the respect for the child and then make a brief tour of some speeches and experiences in education for peace. Brief description of the play methodology is show and subsequently, the experience with primary school children is exposed and analyzed. It is concludes on the role of chaos in the construction of this experience and the relevance of mediation in the construction of the coexistence of minors.
