Abstract

The terrorist violence in Colombia was preceded by political violence between Liberals and Conservatives, although we can not argue that the second is responsible for the appearance of the first, however, the accommodation of forces at the beginning of the Cold War took epicenter Latin America and thereby to Colombia. The regions of the country were suddenly pregnant by guerrilla groups praised by the USSR and blood filled the Colombian countryside. Colombian regions saw the birth of the new form of violence that would end up mutating into terrorism. Tolima Colombia-center platform would be the territorial conflict that began engulfing areas and finish an entire country. Only after 2002 it would begin to see the decline of modern terrorism.
