Abstract

The main objective of this article is to study Belarusian immigration in Spain, something which has scarcely been done before within the Spanish academic and scientific fields. Both quantitative and qualitative techniques have been used for the demographic study and intercultural aspects have also been taken into account. The study includes the history of Belarusian immigration, its causes and its main destinies in Spain; it also presents the magnitude of this phenomenon, its structure and its evolution within this country. It has been our intention to demystify the stereotypes which are often associated to this group of immigrants.
