The emergence of memory in which we live today is reflected in the activity of a big number of groups and the growing media attention to all that is related with the «historical memory». Thus, it seems that projects of oblivion do not always manage its purposes and the memory appears just where that projects leave gaps. It is certainly a phenomenon full of political connotations that requires a philosophical answer. From the hand of Walter Benjamin and some of their contributions to the philosophical notion of memory it is possible to take some epistemological keys. This allows the understanding of what is memory, what is the difference between history and memory and, finally, the search for similarities and disagreements between memory and the Peace Studies.Downloads
