Abstract
The present research comparatively analyzes social movements that developed in two specific historical contexts, conducting a comparative and analytical-descriptive study. On one hand, the 1970s, during the implementation of Operation Condor, which saw the rise of numerous revolutionary movements, and on the other hand, the so-called "Latin American Spring" of 2019. To this end, a series of factors are weighed to identify their similarities and differences. Towards the conclusion, these movements are related to the conflicts and their modes of management, transcendence, and transformation, and the influence of historical memory on the social movements of 2019 is studied, developed from the consequences of Operation Condor, issues addressed from the perspective of peace research.
