Peacebuilding initiatives: AfroReggae and Movements in Brazil. English
Main Article Content
Abstract
The essay addresses the peacebuilding initiatives carried out by civil society in violent urban conflict environments. In this sense, the reflections presented here arise from an analysis process focused on the constructive force of these initiatives within fragmented urban contexts, characterized by a culture of violence that has become invisible and naturalized as a way of privileged to resolve conflicts. Thus, this article is divided into three parts, the first part seeks to introduce readers to the scenario that will be studied. The second part analyzes the main functions of two NGOs (AfroReggae and CUFA) and two projects (the Youth and Police project and Movement project) in the field of peacebuilding and finally in the third part of this essay, Government initiatives are analyzed through the reading of the UPP model in the favelas.
