Abstract

This is a Peace History and Conflict essay and its main objective is to study the capacities for peace in civilians and militaries to negotiate the Spain’s recognizing of Venezuela, based in the methodological proposal of the Unitarian Matrix. If there is true that Spain recognized Colombia (La Grande) in a previous phase, in 1820, this study analyzes the final phase of the recognizing of Venezuela, as independent republic, between 1833 and 1846. That phase of negotiation was distributed in four parts (between 1833 and 1834; between 1834 and 1839; between 1839 and 1845; between 1845 and 1846) until the Treaty of Recognizing, Peace and Friendship between H.M. the Queen of Spain and the Republic of Venezuela, in 1845, and its sanction in 1846.
