<i>Ḥiṣn Ŷiliāna</i> > Esfiliana

Abstract

The toponytne ḥiṣn Ŷiliāna, has been cited by many Moslem geographers. This word has gone through different stages of interpretation by sorne modern authors. In this article has been referred to phonetic, historie, documental and geographic basis. Immediately after that it is difficultto relate ḥiṣn Ŷiliāna with Graena. However Esfiliana, a small village situated in the south of Guadix (Granada), would be more appropiate than Graena.
