Abstract
Focuses on the life of Hernando el Habaquí, the bailif of the small village of Alcudia, who went on to become the representative of the moriscos of the Kingdom of Granada in 1567 and one of the top leaders of the rebellion of 1568-1570. Several conclusions about the role of elites and about collaborationism within the morisco community could be based on these facts.
