Abstract

This work focuses on the inclusion and transmission of art and popular culture through different study schedules in primary school teachers’ education. Different aspects are analyzed: the development of teacher training colleges from their creation to their integration into university faculties; the inclusion of music in these schedules; the development of music in the education system in general and its relation to the studies schedule in teacher training colleges. We also analyze to what extent popular music culture has been present in primary education. The historical, legislative, sociological and educational evolution of primary teacher education is also included in the article.
