Law, Teaching and Active Methodologies: (re)thinking Traditional Legal Education in Brazil
Main Article Content
Abstract
21st century changes require new teaching and learning perspectives, capable of forming more autonomous and proactive individuals. In Law, this becomes even more necessary, mainly due to the predominance of merely expository and content-based classes. Nevertheless, the application of active methodologies opens a new path for legal education. For this reason, the general objective of the research is to analyze how active methodologies may contribute to the disruption of the traditional Law teaching. To this end, the research is qualitative in nature, based on the deductive method and on bibliographical survey as a research technique. As a result, it could be concluded that the presence of active methodologies in Law promotes the inversion of the traditional teaching method, demonstrating that legal education in Brazil is leaving its legal-traditional ties aside, towards new possibilities of knowledge and learning.
