Abstract

The following article contains the resilience narrative that emerged from an academic research, but with profound human implications. It is a resilient narrative that reflects the processes of coping, overcoming and struggle. Biographical narrative, specifically autoethnography, is used as a methodological technique to narrate, analyze, and reflect on the impact of these coping processes in the social and educational contexts that surround a family. This experience aims to show how the onset of a chronic illness promotes fear, uncertainty and sadness in friends and family, and how, in turn, it enhances the resilience process of a mother and daughter.
