A proposal for a paradigm shift of the Alfonso Moreno Chair from a gender perspective
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Department of Music of the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes (México), since its creation, has implemented academic actions for the development of its students of the Bachelor of Music, one of them being the Alfonso Moreno Chair. The Chair consists of the visit of a musician, of recognized trajectory, to share his artistic knowledge with the students and teachers of the Music Department, through recitals, workshops, or conferences. Despite a decade of existence, only the visit of male musicians is known in the Chair’s profile. Therefore, this study aims, from a historical perspective, to present the names of some current Mexican female artists, who have achieved notoriety in classical music, both nationally and internationally, and who, if invited, would bring a paradigm shift from a gender perspective to the Alfonso Moreno Cathedra.
