Abstract
The article presents a principal conceptual framework to discribe the historical geographical processes in Andalucía and Estonia, especially with regard to the regional development and organisation of space. Both regions have been peripheral in the European context not only in physical sense, but also in economical. The article studies the formation of territorial identity and spatial differences since they started to distinguish between themselves and the other regions of the dominating nations.
