Abstract
This article is begun with a short characterization of the Andalusian mountains,attending so much to its ecological characters as human. They are analyzed below the important aspects of the crisis of the traditional ways of life derived from the current territorial model related to the demographic depletion, the functional imbalance, lanscapes sclerosis and loss of cultural identity. Finilly it studies the possibilities of rural sustainable development derived mainly from the application from European policies.
