Abstract
The railway is, without a doubt, one of the main transport infrastructures. The network, or web, formed by its different lines (tracks) and points of connection (stations and crossings) is a major element in the design of any territorial model. Moreover, the different services and flows of passengers and goods are a strategic factor in a regions economic and social development. This paper, a contribution from the Geography of Transport and Networks to the strategic understanding of our region, aims to define and analyse the historic evolution and structuring of the Andalusian railway network.
