Abstract

The aim of this paper is to describe and analyze the demographic and territorial characteristics of the Spanish emigrants who had returned to Spain from any Latin-American country. Furthermore, it aims to describe the characteristics of the Spanish-born population living in Latin-American countries, according to the last data from population Census. This article explores the data provided by the Residential Variation Statistics, elaborated by the National Statistics Institute of Spain (INE), for the period between 1988 and 2006 as well as the Project IMILA’s data, elaborated by the CELADE(Population Division of ECLAC, United Nations).
