Abstract
This research examines a number of aspects related to the intake of the sturgeon from prehistoric and protohistoric populations in some geographical areas of the Peninsular South. The analysis of the DNA of prehistoric remains brings light to the problematic of the existence of one or several species of sturgeons autochthonous in the Peninsular South; in particular, these studies supporting the existence of the species Acipenser naccarii in Andalusia geography. In addition, it analyses the social aspects and environmental arising from the possible existence of this species of sturgeon in Andalusian since pre and protohistoric times.
