Abstract

This article offers a reflection on the bleak situation of political theory at the present time. The failure of the science of public affairs is now evident. The passage through two world wars, their overcoming, led to the hope of a new political science with advances that would provide new insights and the hope of cancelling human inclinations towards destruction and cruelty; in short, “mutual harm”. Unfortunately, this has not happened and today we find ourselves in increasing confusion. Our knowledge is very discredited and its lack of identity reflects a loss inherent to modern political science.
