Ante los nuevos retos globales: la Ciencia Política que me interesa

Abstract

The paper’s purpose is threefold. Firstly, to deal with the vital reasons that aroused in the author the desire to analyze politics. Second, to point out the type of Political Science is of greatest interest through four of its characteristics: phenomena of meaning social, open to other disciplines, beyond diagnosis and proposal of solutions and, intelligible formulation. And, finally, it relates these characteristics with Political Science in Spain. From a individual perspective, the increasing presence and importance of research on politics, in all spheres that surround it, is analyzed: the scientific one, the media, the international, following more and more the current theoretical and methodological patterns. However, this is not enough, the problems that the 21st century brings need new solutions, which are the great challenge for Spanish Political Science in the coming decades.
