Abstract
The issue of human freedom has been generating an enormous discussion between sciences of nature and sciences of culture. Neurosciences, supported by new technologies that allow the research of neural activities, claim the non-existence of a free will. These ideas are a new challenge for sciences of culture. The reflection presented here is based on the principle that human freedom is not just limited to the sphere of action, but also to the sphere of knowledge and so the processes involving the representation of reality.
