Preferencias sociales y valoración económica en la gestión sostenible de espacios naturales protegidos: el río Segura y su entorno en Cieza (Región de Murcia)

Los Espacios Naturales Protegidos (ENP) constituyen áreas a conservar dada su capacidad de generar bienes y servicios que benefician a toda la población. La presión antrópica a la que están sometidas estas áreas origina la necesidad de implementar medidas para su gestión y conservación. El objetivo de este trabajo es valorar económicamente las preferencias sociales sobre de las medidas de gestión en el ENP del río Segura y su entorno a su paso por Cieza (Región de Murcia, España). Mediante una encuesta representativa a la población de la comarca donde se ubica este espacio, se pone de manifiesto la elevada aceptación de las nuevas medidas de gestión planteadas para el mismo. Dentro de estas medidas, agrupadas de acuerdo a las tres grandes esferas de la sostenibilidad (social, económica y ambiental), la población muestra una mayor preferencia por aquellas de naturaleza económica y ambiental aplicadas en el área montañosa del espacio.
