Abstract

Many sociocritics consider cultural work not as an isolated object but as social product. Sharing this viewpoint, we came to the conclusion that any work of art has many authors. The present work has permitted us to shed a little more light on the notion of author and to attribute to the cultural subject some complementary roles, rights and duties. In sociocriticism, it should rather be a matter of co-author and co-property than author and property. Cultural co- authors, for being numerous, are complementary, enforce mutually and enforce the cultural subject. Individual subject’s participation is not lost because this one acts simultaneously as an active and sole product and as passive member of the society that generates the work of art. Besides, to each actor of the production corresponds one right, the co-authors’ right that could be shared among individual and collective common subjects.
