Abstract

This article, following the line initiated by José María Pozuelo Yvancos and Domingo Sanchez-Mesa, explores the links between Enrique Vila-Matas’ narrative, the tradition of the “literature of negativity” and the modern avant-garde, considering, under such linkages, Vila-Matas’ writing as a hinge writing, a threshold writing that, inhabiting the border, the edge of the abyss, gets to open a Third Space between Modernism and Postmodernism, where both meet, dialogue and change.
