Abstract

This paper discusses El atrevimiento de mirar, a volume including nine texts on painting and photography by the Spanish writer Antonio Muñoz Molina. It is an important book since the look, and especially the reflections on art, meet a prominent place in the poetics of this writer, and also because it contains topics from his earlier texts. After comparing El atrevimiento de mirar to  other books such as Sefarad or Ventanas de Manhattan, the author analyzes the elements taking part of an ideal artist, sensitive to reality and committed to the visible world.
