Abstract

Edward Palmer Thompson was one of the greatest social historians of the 20th century. Moreover, he carried out an outstanding labour leading several major initiatives within the peace movement during the Cold War. Despite Thompson did not directly participate in the making and consolidation of peace research as science, his contributions in this field –poorly studied so far- undoubtedly deserve further research and consideration. That is this article’s overriding aim.
