Abstract
Based on the pottery assemblages documented in the fieldworks conducted at the archaeological site of Motilla del Azuer a typological classification will be presented. In order to study the pottery sample two main statistical methods have been applied: the clutter Analysis and the Principal Component Analysis. Technological properties of the ceramic vessels have been also studied and took into account in the typological classification. As a result 33 typological groups have been identified and organized in 74 pottery types. Finally, functional features of the pottery vessels will be discussed together with a proposal of how pottery production could be organized.
