Abstract
In the present study the use of the concept of motilla in the archaeological literature is analyzed, taking into account the disparity of views of various researchers to defi what we mean by motilla as archaeological site, the use of place names to identify the archaeological sites and the problems to identify the same site with different names, in order to determine the number of existing sites.
