Abstract
Material culture that evidences the occupation of the Albaicin hill from IV to VIII centuries are presented; besides archaeological remains, written sources will be used in order to corroborate the occupation of this neighborhood, probably as a town, not only until Muslim conquest but also until the foundation of the ziri capital in the XI century.
