Abstract
The Latin colony of Cosa was founded in 273 BC in a determined location from the Tyrrhenian coast in the territory of the Etruscan town of Vulci. In this article we approach the factors that led to the Roman state to elect Ansedonia Hill as a suitable place for the erection of this new city, starting from the interests that the Greek and Latin classics were expressed. From this base, we identified three key factors: physical, geopolitical and religious.
