Abstract

This work presents the archaeological studies carried out in Fuente Amarguilla-Cortijo Nuevo (Almería). Singular buildings were documented in the excavations made in 1977 and 1997 but they have remain unpublished till now. The archaeological material and the graphic documentation allows to offer an historical interpretation for Fuente Amarguilla-Cortijo Nuevo. The settlement was a functional area for the storage and food production, possibly cereal. The absence of references for these archaeological buildings is evidenced. The interpretation about the settlement uses and the archaeological identity has been supported by a spatial analysis. Carbon 14 results are placed the site at the end of the Argaric culture.
