Abstract
First we note that the characterization of the war cannot be separated from the (mostly internal) social contradictions that imply the development of hierarchical societies, even when their identification, as the conflict itself, is sometimes difficult in European prehistoric contexts for which no other data are available. Secondly, the analysis of some indicators commonly used to talk about war “conflict”, from archaeological data, allow us to note that the underestimation of it by some researchers responds to current ideological projections and in no case to lack of evidence in the archaeological record. Obviously this does not mean that the conflict take always a physical way.
