VIRTUAL RECONSTRUCTION APPLIED TO HERITAGE AS A TOOL FOR RESEARCH AND DISSEMINATION: THE EXAMPLE OF RITUAL SACRIFICE OF COURTYARD OF THE CASAS DEL TURUÑUELO SITE (GUAREÑA, BADAJOZ, SPAIN) AS A CASE STUDY
Main Article Content
Abstract
since the year 2015, when 'National Research Project Construyendo Tarteso' began, the application of virtual reconstruction to the archaeological remains studied within the frame of the Project, both movable and immovable, has been one of our main interests. This is due to the advantages that the use of 3D technologies offers us both in the fields of research and scientific dissemination. Therefore, this work brings together some of the main contributions made by the 'Construyendo Tarteso Project', in relation to the methodologies applied in the reconstruction of archaeological heritage. An example of these contributions is the application of 'Real Time' rendering technology with the video game engine 'Unreal Engine'. Its usefulness and advantages, already shown in the reconstruction of the Casas del Turuñuelo building, are once again depicted in this work where we present the process and the results of the virtual reconstruction of the mass animal sacrifice documented in the courtyard of this site.
