Abstract
We present two unpublished copper-alloy pieces of probable Visigothic chronology, one found out of context in Tarazona and the other obtained in the Reccopolis necropolis excavations. Even if the latter was previously known, it had been described as a decorative plaque without any further specifics. In this paper we propose that they were both elements used to press and stamp leather, a decorative technique about which we know for the Roman and Medieval periods. From this preliminary interpretation, we also want to present a first approximation to the archaeology of leatherworking in the Visigothic period.
