Abstract
This paper analyses a series of female tombs recently excavated in Syracuse, associated with funerary contexts typical of the passage from the 1st to the 2nd Iron Age on the island of Sicily within the Greek sphere, and which represent a review of concepts of iidentity and gender within the field of the archaeology of death in protohistory.
