Abstract

Shelters with schematic rock painting located within the nucleus of Sierra Harana appeared during the last few years, and a revision of paintings published in the last century are presented in this paper. Also it is tried to study relations between the painted shelters and the Neolithic settlement in this area by using archaeological remains (mainly the movable art). Also relations between shelters and landscape that surrounds them are studied, establishing connections of different ecological niches and natural routes of communication between Hoya of Guadix and the Vega of Granada. All these shelters have been classified like shelters of movement and vision within the category of analysis in the landscape of the schematic rock painting, adjusting to the ancient model proposed by some researches for the south of the Iberian Peninsula.
