Abstract
This work tries to show how domus de janas animal representations and architectural decoration keep a stronger relation than it has been suggested and it can not reduced to “religious” meaning. We submit the hypothesis that this kind of representations existed in the houses, where there were also real animal trophies as decoration. These images were linked to the role of certain animal species in the increase and exhibition of wealth and their use in the production. It’s always this role the reason why these animals could be made gods or symbols of gods, when Ideology began to be used as a power weapon.
