Abstract
In this paper we aim to present the survey works carried out at the Mina del Poligono archaeological site (Baños de la Encina, Jaén), within the Peñalosa Research Project. Lead isotope analysis has shown that this mine was used by the inhabitants of Peñalosa during the Bronze Age. The archaeological record also shows the existence of work in this mine in Roman times. This study contributes new data about copper exploitation in the past.
