Abstract

We present the preliminary results of the IAP held in 2010 on the site where currently the University of Granada´s Centre for Mind, Brain, and Behaviour (MCC), at University Campus of Cartuja, is being built. The chronological sequence of documented culture dates back to the installation of an outdoor village preliminarily dated to the fourth millennium BC of which only a set of pits filled with their respective archaeological goods have survived sites (Fase 1). There is a considerable hiatus in occupation until the late Middle Ages, from which time there remain a number of phases today. An outstanding feature of these historical phases is the scale of the structures of agricultural orientation in medieval times (fourteenth-fifteenth centuries, Fase 2), and complementary domestic and craft infrastructures from the second half of the fifteenth century to the seventeenth century (Fase 3).
