Abstract
In this paper, we analyse the mortars produced in Baetica during the Empire, offering a tour of the production centres to study these mortars technologically and chronologically. Equally important is in the analysis of the typological setting of this pottery type starting from a study of imported mortars and production at the end of the republic in the south ofthe Iberian Penisula. This in turn helps us to know the use of this pottery and to relate itto eating habits.
