The Nasrid tower of Romilla: patrimony, landscape and feeling
Keywords:
Patrimony, Tower, Farm, Landscape, MeadowAbstract
From a historical point of view, the Vega de Granada has been appreciated by all societies that have visited or lived there. From antiquity until today, it has been a historically significant enclave, home to multiple intercultural disputes. Currently, however, some of its most important patrimonial elements have been neglected, forgotten, or have disappeared entirely. One case of such dangerous loss of patrimonial identity is the tower of Romilla, situated in the Vega of Granada next to the Genil river. We will attempt to describe a variety of cultural elements that are connected to this Nasrid tower as well as the tower’s impact on the landscape of the Vega of Granada.
