Voces de resistencia: el activismo de la Unión Feminista Egipcia a favor de la independencia de Palestina (1925-1944)

Esta investigación presenta un novedoso estudio del papel de la Unión Feminista Egipcia en la liberación política y el feminismo local en Palestina. A partir de una muestra seleccionada de los dos órganos periodísticos de esta organización: L’Egyptienne (1925-1940) y al-Miṣriyya (La Egipcia) (1937-1940), se evidencia el activismo de las mujeres egipcias en defensa a la emancipación del pueblo palestino. El objetivo fundamental del estudio consistió en indagar en la contribución de Hudā Ša‘rāwī (1879-1947) y su compañera Sīzā Nabarāwī (1897-1985) a la causa palestina. Otros objetivos secundarios derivan nuestro objeto de investigación hacia: 1) la construcción de los lazos panarabistas de las asociaciones de mujeres árabes; y 2) el deterioro de las relaciones entre la UFE y las delegadas europeas de la International Alliance of Women; y la falta de apoyo hacia Palestina durante su visita a El Cairo en 1935 y la conferencia de Copenhague en 1939. La metodología se basó en una amplia revisión hemerográfica, apoyada en el análisis crítico e historiográfico. Entre las conclusiones más relevantes confirmamos las limitaciones del apoyo por parte de las delegadas europeas a las feministas egipcias que como consecuencia optaron por reforzar sus propias alianzas regionales.
