Abstract

María Sonia Cristoff’s literary work began in 2005 with the book Falsa calma (A False Calm), an external and internal journey through the ruins of the oil dream in Argentine Patagonia. Since then, her work has exhibited formal characteristics that question the time and language of capitalism, culminating in the formulation of “anti-capitalist” fictions, as Alejandra Laera suggests, such as her latest novel, Derroche (2022). In this article, I will focus on this wors as well as three other novels by the author: Desubicados (Misfits, 2006), Inclúyanme afuera (Include me out, 2014), and Mal de época (2017), to propose an interpretation of the narrative techniques that slow down time (Laera) and open lines of flight (Guattari) with respect to the ways of feeling and living in the neoliberal world.
