Abstract

The author of this paper aims to explain how the different treatment of Myth which we find in early Greek Epic (that is, Homeric Poems, Epic Cycle and Hesiod) is due to the different functions -mainly poetical, political and ideological respectively-it has to accomplish in the three named groups of works.
