Sentidos de la adivinación en Heródoto, Cicerón y Plutarco

El artículo compara los sentidos de la adivinación en Heródoto, Cicerón y Plutarco. Sostiene que pueden ser contrastados en términos de dos resoluciones simbólicas: por un lado, de la distancia entre la sentencia adivinatoria y su correlato fáctico; por el otro, de la relación entre la performatividad propia de la adivinación y otras enunciaciones performativas. A través de una lectura estructuralista de los tres autores, se remarca cómo emplean categorías distintas para resolver simbólicamente los contornos de la creencia adivinatoria. Así, mientras que Heródoto elaboró un sentido de la adivinación marcado por la relación entre sedes oraculares y consultantes, Cicerón imbricó la adivinación en la performatividad del derecho y Plutarco construyó una psicología compleja, a través de la mediación de los demones.
